Apogee Reader is a native iPhone and iPad app for BookOrbit, the self-hosted server for ebooks, audiobooks, comics and PDFs. Sign in to your server and your library comes with you. Books you download work offline.

You'll need one running to use the app. Apogee doesn't come with books or a server of its own.

Read & Listen

Play the audiobook and the ebook follows the narrator. The words being read appear in the player, and in the reader the page turns with the narration.

Apogee does the matching on your device.

It works with any book you have as both an ebook and an audiobook, while the audiobook plays.

Read Aloud

If a book has no audiobook, Apogee can read it to you in your device's own voices, highlighting each word as it goes.

A real reader

Pages are properly typeset, and you choose the theme and font. Your progress syncs to your server, so the BookOrbit web app and your other devices pick up where you stopped.

Audiobook and book as one title

When you have both, they're one title in your library. You can switch between listening and reading without losing your place.

Made for iPad

Home opens on the book you were reading. A book's page floats over your shelves, and the shelves use the whole screen.
